No: You cannot create Business Copy Z pairs
Note: When using the mainframe system, the number of the resource groups that can be accessed
from the host is only one. So when you use the mainframe system, we recommend that you specify
the volume that belongs to the resource group that can be accessed from the host as S-VOL and
T-VOL.
For details about Resource Partition, see HP P9000 Provisioning for Mainframe Systems User Guide
Thin Provisioning Z
The volumes of Thin Provisioning Z can be used as Business Copy Z S-VOL, T-VOL, and reserved
volumes with the following limitations.
It is recommended that you use Thin Provisioning volumes for both S-VOL and T-VOL.
If you use Business Copy Z S-VOL only as Thin Provisioning Z volumes, you cannot perform
Quick Restore.
If you use Business Copy Z T-VOL only as Thin Provisioning Z volumes, you cannot perform
Quick Restore. And also, it is not recommended to use Business Copy Z T-VOL only as Thin
Provisioning Z volumes because T-VOL uses the same pool capacity as S-VOL.
You cannot perform the pair operation of Business Copy Z when extending the capacity of
Thin Provisioning Z volumes.
