HP P9000 Business Copy for Mainframe Systems User Guide (AV400-96386, October 2011)

Because Business Copy Z and Continuous Access Synchronous Z support PPRC, a failure to meet
these requirements could result in an executed PPRC command on a Continuous Access Synchronous
Z pair instead.
Preparing the system with PSF and DEVSERV
PSF commands (perform storage system function) enable PPRC commands and user requests in the
storage system. The following table shows how PSF commands interact with Business Copy Z pair.
Table 17 How PSF commands operate with Business Copy Z
InteractionItem
See Table 18 (page 57).Device pair status
Not available for Business Copy Z, because the differential bitmap format
is different than Continuous Access Synchronous Z’s.
Display the rate of synchronization of the
S-VOL and T-VOL (Sync)
Displays information for the pair whose T-VOL has the lowest LDEV ID.S-VOL with 2 or more T-VOLs
Active.Path status
If the volume does not also belong to a Continuous Access Synchronous Z
pair, 1 is displayed with Continuous Access Synchronous Z information.

DEVSERV command example
Adding pairs with CESTPAIR and PPRCOPY ESTPAIR
Add pairs using the CESTPAIR and PPRCOPY ESTPAIR commands.
The commands are issued to the S-VOL.
The T-VOL must be offline.
Parameters and examples are provided in the following sections.
CESTPAIR
The following table describes the CESTPAIR command parameters used to create pairs.
