HP P9000 Business Copy for Mainframe Systems User Guide (AV400-96386, October 2011)

Procedure 16 To set up pairs in a consistency group
1. In Remote Web Console, reserve a consistency group using the instructions in “Reserving a
consistency group” (page 27)
2. Using PPRC, create the pairs using the CESTPAIR or PPRCOPY ESTPAIR command.
3. In Remote Web Console in the CTG window, make sure that the pairs exist in the consistency
group as expected.
Procedure 17 To split the pairs in a consistency group
1. Execute the CSUSPEND or the PPRCOPY SUSPEND command. The command splits all the
pairs in the consistency group. If you perform the command on a pair which has already been
split, errors do not occur.
2. Use the CQUERY or PPRCOPY QUERY command to check pair status. Status should be Split.
Hosts can now access the data in T-VOLs.
Procedure 18 To resynchronize pairs in the same consistency group
1. Resynchronize pairs by using the CESTPAIR or PPRCOPY ESTPAIR command. The command
resynchronizes all pairs in the consistency group. If you perform the command on a pair which
has not been split, errors do not occur.
2. Use the CQUERY command or the PPRCOPY QUERY command to make sure that the pair
status is Pending or Duplex.
Procedure 19 To delete pairs in the same consistency group
1. Delete pairs by using the CDELPAIR or PPRCOPY DELPAIR command. The command deletes
all the pairs in the consistency group.
2. Use the CQUERY or PPRCOPY QUERY command to make sure that the pair status is Simplex
Displaying pair information with CQUERY TSO, QUERY ICKDSF
You can view pair status and volume information using the CQUERY TSO and the QUERY ICKDSF
commands.
The commands can be issued to the S-VOL or T-VOL.
If an S-VOL has multiple T-VOLs, status displays for the pair whose T-VOL has the lowest LDEV
ID. To obtain status of a pair with another T-VOL, issue the command to the desired T-VOL.
If the system contains both Business Copy Z and Continuous Access Synchronous Z pairs, the
CQUERY and the PPRCOPY QUERY commands report Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair
status. To obtain the Business Copy Z status, issue the command to the Business Copy Z T-VOL.
When Business Copy Z and Continuous Access Synchronous Z share volumes, path status
displays for Continuous Access Synchronous Z. If they do not share volumes path status for
the Business Copy Z pair, the pair displays as FFFF FFFF.
The following sections provide the commands, parameters, and examples for displaying pair
information.
