Establishing Compatible FlashCopy relationships
You need to use the FCESTABL command of PPRC TSO commands, DFSMSdss commands,
ICKDSF commands, ANTRQST Macro commands, or z/VM CP commands to establish
Compatible FlashCopy relationships.
CAUTION: When a number of FlashCopy relationships are established at the same time for a
storage system shared with IBM OS or Fujitsu OS, a time-out may occur. Therefore, when planning
to establish a quantity of FlashCopy relationships, divide the tasks into small groups to minimize
time-out issues.
For instance, when you establish 100 or more relationships, you should establish relationships at
intervals of about five seconds per 100 relationships.
The timing to copy the data when the relationship is established is different between Compatible
FlashCopy and IBM FlashCopy. IBM FlashCopy copies data when data in either the source or
target volume is updated.
Establishing Compatible FlashCopy relationships by Volumes using TSO command
The following table lists the parameters you can use with the FCESTABL command when you
establish Compatible FlashCopy relationships by volumes.
