1 Installation requirements
This chapter describes Installation requirements.
System requirements
RAID Manager operations involve the RAID Manager software on the UNIX/PC server host, the
command device(s) on the RAID storage system(s), and the logical volumes on the RAID storage
system(s).
The system requirements for RAID Manager are:
• RAID Manager software product. The RAID Manager software is supplied on CD-ROM or
diskette. The RAID Manager software files take up 2.5 MB of space. The log files can take up
to 3 MB of space.
• Host platforms. RAID Manager is supported on the following host platforms. See Table 2 (page
7) – Table 10 (page 12) for detailed information on supported OS versions.

• Host access: Root/administrator access to the host is required to perform RAID Manager
operations.
