Preface This manual describes the messages output by Global Link Manager.
Intended audience This document is intended for storage administrators who use Global Link Manager to operate and manage storage systems, and assumes that readers have: • For building a Global Link Manager system: Knowledge of the server OS (Windows) • For managing paths by using the Global Link Manager GUI: Knowledge of Global Link Manager GUI operations and the HDLM management functionality Product version This document revision applies to Hitachi Global Link Manager version 8.0.0 or later.

1 Global Link Manager Messages This chapter describes the message syntax as well as the format and types of message IDs, and provides an overview of Global Link Manager messages.
Message Syntax Global Link Manager is output to the GUI, CLI, and log files. An output message consists of a message ID and message text. Note that some components also output a date, time, and program name to messages. Format and Types of Message IDs Message IDs have the following format: PREFIXnnnnn-Z The message ID consists of the following components: PREFIX Indicates the component that outputs the message.
