6.5.10.3 OPOS Installation - Ethernet
In the HP factory image the OPOS driver is installed in USB mode. Later in this
section are the steps to change the OPOS driver from USB mode to Ethernet mode;
see “OPOS – Ethernet IPS Address (Registry)” section. These steps will need to
be used even if the printer driver Ethernet option is selected during installation in
order to get the correct IP address into the registry.
The following is an overview of the steps to install the receipt printer followed by
detailed steps:
1. Open OPOS Support For HP Printers.
• C:\xxxxx\Point of Sale\Receipt Printer\POS Printer OPOS\setup.exe.
2. Select HP A799/A799II Printer for Printer choices. Currently this is the only
model offered by HP that supports Ethernet.
3. Select Generation II Printer for Emulation Mode.
4. Select YES or NO to install OPOS Control Objects.
5. Select “Ethernet Communications (A799 II) as the Connection Method.
6. For the remaining options, defaults can be selected until the installation is
complete.
