6.16 HP Fingerprint Readers
6.16.1 Connection
The Fingerprint Reader may be plugged into any designated free USB port for the specific device.
6.16.2 Windows Drivers
The HP Fingerprint Reader Driver is included in the HP factory image and is also available from
HP.COM.
Once the Fingerprint Reader is attached to the system, an entry for the device will be listed in the
“Biometric” section of Device Manager:
HP Retail Fingerprint Reader-By DigitalPersona (WBF)
TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor (WBF advanced mode)
6.16.3 OPOS Drivers / JPOS Drivers / SDK Kit
Please contact your HP rep to have arrangements made for the SDK kit.
Recommended cleaning:
Apply the sticky side of a piece of adhesive cellophane tape on the window and peel it
away. If necessary, gently wipe the window with a cloth (not paper) dampened with a mild
ammonia-based glass cleaner to remove any milky haze.
Never do the following:
• Clean the reader window with paper
• Pour glass cleaner directly on the reader window
• Use alcohol-based cleaners
• Submerge the reader in liquid
