Q: How do I upgrade from HP ProCurve Manager Plus 2.x to HP ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0?
To upgrade from HP ProCurve Manager Plus 2.x to HP ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0, you will need to
purchase HP ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 upgrade with 50-device license plus one agent license from
previous HP ProCurve Manager Plus 2.x (J9173A). To add more devices up to 750, add up to seven
+100-device licenses (J9175A). Customers with HP ProCurve Manager Plus 50- and 100-device licenses
cannot upgrade to an unlimited-device license.
Q: If I have an HP ProCurve Manager Plus 2.x 50-device license and six 100-device incremental licenses,
can I upgrade to the HP ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 unlimited-device license?
No. A ProCurve Manager Plus 2.x system with incremental licenses cannot be upgraded to a ProCurve
Manager 3.0 unlimited-device license, and a ProCurve Manager Plus 2.x system with an unlimited-device
license cannot be upgraded to ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 incremental licenses. To upgrade from a
50-device and incremental license, purchase ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 50-device base license (J9173A)
and six ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 100-device incremental licenses (J9175A) for a total of 650 devices.

As a new user of ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0, you should purchase the license the covers the greatest
number of devices in your network. For example, if your network has:

As a current owner of ProCurve Mobility Manager 2.x, you can upgrade ProCurve Manager 2.x to 3.0
by purchasing the HP ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 50-device license upgrade (J9173A) or the
HP ProCurve Manager Plus 3.0 unlimited-device license upgrade (J9176A). The upgrade for all plug-ins
is included with the upgrade license. Your previous ProCurve Mobility Manager device license is
maintained during the upgrade. To add more devices, purchase the +100-device license (J9292A).
