Optical drive connector cable
NOTE: The optical drive connector cable is included with the optical drive, spare part number 779456-001.
Before removing the optical drive connector cable, follow these steps:
1. Turn o the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 28), and then remove the following components:
a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 33).
b. Service door (see Service door on page 29).
c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 31).
d. Memory module (see Memory module on page 30).
e. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 38).
f. Top cover (see Top cover on page 40).
Remove the optical drive connector cable:
1. Disconnect the optical drive connector cable (1) from the system board.
2. Release the optical drive connector cable from the clip (2) built into the base enclosure.
3. Remove the optical drive connector cable.
