6.11 HP Retail Jacket for ElitePad Barcode Scanner
6.11.1 Connection
The barcode scanner is connected by installing a supported tablet into the HP Retail Jacket for
ElitePad:
• HP ElitePad 900 Tablet
• HP ElitePad 1000 Tablet
6.11.2 Operating Modes
The operating modes supported by the HP Retail Jacket for Elitepad barcode scanner are listed
below along with their Windows Device Manager entries. The scanner by default is shipped in
USB HID Keyboard mode; however, with scanner Firmware version 3.06.068 or newer this
mode has been redefined as USB Composite (combines USB HID Keyboard and HID-POS) in
order to support Firmware updates. If necessary, change the scanner mode for your
environment by using the “HP Retail Jacket Scanner OPOS_NonOPOS Barcodes.pdf” file
included in the HP factory image or the HP Retail Jacket for Elitepad Barcode Scanner
