Every Jetdirect will
create a self-signed
certificate the first
time it is powered
on. Each Jetdirect
has a unique self-
signed certificate.
For small
environments,
trusting the self-
signed certificate
(by storing the
certificate on the
client) may be all
that is needed for
security. We can
take a look at this
certificate by
pressing “View…”
under the heading
“Jetdirect
Certificate”
The subject and
issuer names are
the same – that is
the first clue that it
is a self-signed
certificate.
Because the self-
signed is generated
at first time power
up, there are no
DNS names or IP
addresses
associated with it.
