Connect the HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Solution Print
Server
Use this section to connect the HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Solution Print Server.
CAUTION: HP Jetdirect print servers contain electronic components that can be damaged by
static electricity through electrostatic discharge (ESD). To prevent ESD damage, maintain
frequent contact with any bare sheet metal surface on the printer. A grounding wrist strap (or similar
device) is useful for this purpose. Avoid touching electronic components or circuit paths.
1. Ensure that you have the latest firmware installed on the HP Jetdirect 640n Print Server and on
the printer/MFP. (See the printer/MFP's setup or user guide for firmware upgrade instructions.)
2. Turn off the device, and disconnect the power.
3. Plug the USB connector on the HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Solution Print Server into the USB
connector on the HP Jetdirect 640n Print Server. Tighten the thumb screws and ensure that the
HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Solution Print Server is held securely in place.

4. Reconnect the power and turn on the device.
NOTE: When the power is restored, the HP Jetdirect 695n Print Server is in wireless
configuration mode. Wireless network access is disabled until the configuration settings are
completed. See
