NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket.

Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 31).
5. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 35).
6. Remove the top cover (see Top cover on page 43).
To remove the hard drive:
1. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (1) that secure the hard drive to the computer.
2. Slide the hard drive to disengage it from the connector (2).
3. Lift the hard drive from the computer (3).
