5. If installing a USB 3.0 media card reader, connect the media card reader cable to the USB 3.0
connector on the system board labeled MEDIA 3.0.
NOTE: Refer to System board connections – model 400 on page 56 or System board
connections – model 480 on page 57 for an illustration of the system board drive connectors.
Removing a 3.5-inch hard drive
NOTE: Before you remove the old hard drive, be sure to back up the data from the old hard drive so
that you can transfer the data to the new hard drive.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 42)
2. Remove the access panel (
Access panel on page 43)
3. Disconnect the power cable and data cable from the back of the hard drive.
4. Remove the four 6-32 mounting screws (1) and slide the drive out of the bay (2).
