Table 2-20 General Print Settings menu (continued)
First level Second level Values Description
Append CR to LF No*
Yes
Configure whether a carriage
return (CR) is appended to each
line feed (LF) encountered in
backwards-compatible PCL jobs
(pure text, no job control). Select
Yes to append the carriage
return. The default setting is No.
Some environments, such as
UNIX, indicate a new line by
using only the line-feed control
code. This option allows the user
to append the required carriage
return to each line feed.
Suppress Blank Pages No*
Yes
This option is for users who are
generating their own PCL, which
could include extra form feeds
that would cause blank pages to
be printed. When the Yes option
is selected, form feeds are
ignored if the page is blank.
Media Source Mapping Standard*
Classic
Use to select and maintain input
trays by number when you are
not using the product driver, or
when the software program has
no option for tray selection. The
following options are available:
Standard: Tray numbering is
based on newer HP LaserJet
models.
Classic: Tray numbering is based
on HP LaserJet 4 and older
models.
