Basic functions
This chapter presents a functional overview of the printer’s
processes. The following systems are discussed:
!
formatter
! printer functions
• engine control unit (ECU) system/power system
• image formation system
• paper-feed system (printer) and
! optical system (optional copier/scanner)
The printer has an optional copier/scanner. Operation sequences of
the printer are controlled by the ECU. Operation sequences of the
optional copier/scanner are controlled by the formatter.
