78 Chapter 5 - Removal and replacement

Before performing service

! Remove all media from the printer.

! Unplug the power cable.

Place the printer on an ESD mat.

! Remove the main input tray.

! If the optional copier/scanner is attached, remove the copier/

scanner media input tray and the copier/scanner output bin.

! Remove the toner cartridge (see page 78).

Toner cartridge

Note You will feel resistance when you open the toner cartridge door.

1 Open the toner cartridge door, which lifts the toner cartridge

toward you.

2 Remove the toner cartridge.

CAUTION To prevent damage, do not expose the toner cartridge to light. Cover

it with a piece of paper.
