Deploying Microsoft Windows 7 Using Removable
Media
In this scenario, we describe using removable media to install Windows 7 onto a
new computer. This deployment method is sometimes known as bare-metal
installation or the DVD-boot method. These procedures guide you through an
unattended installation using an answer file rather than the standard Windows
Setup. This process is ideal for low-volume processes (such as IT test laboratories),
reimaging, and small organizations that need to configure only a few computers.
This process does not require a network.
The following diagram illustrates the deployment process.
