CAUTION
:
The
f11
recovery tool reinstalls the operating system and drivers which were
installed at the factory. Software not installed at the factory must be reinstalled. The
partition containing the user’s home folders WILL NOT be erased. It is recommended
that all personal files be backed up before proceeding.
To recover the original hard drive image using f11, follow these steps:
1. If possible, back up all personal files.
2. Restart the computer, and then press esc while the “Press the ESC key for Startup
Menu” message is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
3. Press f11 while the “Press <F11> for recovery” message is displayed on the screen.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you are unable to boot (start up) your computer using the primary operating system or
the f11 recovery method, you must use the System Recovery DVD SLED 11 Linux
operating system DVD to repair the operating system. Refer to the Worldwide Telephone
Numbers booklet, included with the computer, for contact information.
To turn off the computer:
1. Save your work and close all programs.
2. Click Start, and then click Shut down.
To turn off the computer:

2. Click Start, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Shut down.
To turn off the computer:
1. Save your work and close all programs.
2. Click Start, click Turn Of f Comput er, and then click Turn Off .
If you have been registered to a network domain, the button you click is called Shut
Down instead of Turn Off Computer.
To turn off the computer, use either one of the following methods:
1. Save your work and close all programs.
2. Briefly press the Power button. A menu appears.
3. Click Shutdown, and then click Shutdown again.

1. Save your work and close all programs.
2. Click Computer, click Shutdown, and then click Shutdown again.
