NFC module (includes 2 cables and double-sided adhesive) 800515-001
Before removing the NFC module, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the service cover (see Service cover on page 47), and then remove the following components:
a. Battery (see Battery on page 49)
b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 59)
c. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 71)
Remove the NFC module:
1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the NFC module cable is connected, and then disconnect
the NFC module cable from the card reader board.
2. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the NFC module cable is connected, and then disconnect
the NFC module cable from the NFC module.
3. Release the NFC module (3) from the top cover. (The NFC module is attached to the top cover with
double-sided adhesive.)
4. Remove the NFC module.
Reverse this procedure to install the NFC module.
