Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the service cover (see Service cover on page 47), and then remove the following components:
a. Battery (see Battery on page 49)
b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 59)
c. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 71)
d. NFC module (see NFC module on page 75)
Remove the TouchPad:
1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the TouchPad cable is connected, and then disconnect
the TouchPad cable from the card reader board.
2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×2.0 broad head screws (2) that secure the TouchPad to the top cover.
3. Lift the top edge of the TouchPad until it rests at an angle (3).
