Import of Integrity VM guests with SAN-based or NPIV-based storage requires that a
valid primary boot entry be configured in the VM guest.
Import
Integrity VM will only allow cross-technology logical server move operations on VMs that
are configured with SAN-based storage when the VM Host is in an Integrity VM and VC
Portability Group.
Move
Power on and power off
Storage pool entries (SPEs) can be added to logical servers in all Integrity VM or Integrity
VM and VC Portability Groups.
Storage pool creation
Pre-allocated SPEs can now also be inserted into new Integrity VM logical servers.Storage pool insertion
In order to move cross-technology logical servers, you must create a Portability Group
that contains both Integrity VM and servers with Virtual Connect.
Online moves with NPIV are only supported between servers in the same processor
family. Specifically, the following Online move configurations are supported:
Integrity VM and VC
Portability Group Creation
Online migration between Montecito-based and Montvale-based servers. This includes
moves between BL8x0c blades.
Online migration between Tukwila based servers. This includes moves between BL8x0c
i2 blades.
Configuration values that are not portable when moving Integrity or Integrity
VM servers
When moving supported Integrity blades or Integrity VMs using the cross-technology logical server
feature, the following configuration values will not be moved along with the source system. Values
include:
Memory interleave settings
Processor socket breakdown information
All hardware deallocation information
iLO User Configuration Settings including:
Security settings such as certificates or failed login
User settings (username, password for example)
LDAP settings
Licence settings
Power on restore settings
