7. If the sensor is functioning correctly, run a few pages to check where the leading edge of the paper
actually stops.
Check the area where the paper has stopped for any potential blockage or damaged parts.
Replace the parts or assemblies as needed.
If all parts look good and there is no obstruction, replace the registration assembly.

IMPORTANT: Before replacing any parts, the on-site technician should check ALL connectors on the
DC controller.
13.B2.FF Paper Jam
Residual paper jam in the registration area.
This jam occurs when residual paper is detected at the registration sensor (SR20) at power on.
Recommended action for customers
1. Open the right door and clear the jam in the indicated area. Inspect the paper path and make sure
no paper is blocking the paper path.
2. Ensure that the tray width guides are set to the correct paper size being installed into the tray. The
arrow on the guide should line up exactly with the line connected to paper size designation. Ensure
that the tray is not filled above the fill mark on the tray.

Load Tray 2 and the 500-sheet trays.
3. If the error persists, contact your HP-authorized service or support provider, or contact customer
support at www.hp.com/go/contactHP.

4. If the sensors fails, replace the registration assembly.
