Recommended action for call-center agents and onsite technicians
1. Open the top cover below the control panel.
2. Thoroughly inspect the area the jam occurred in and clear all paper from the paper path.
3. Ensure the type and quality of the paper that is being used meets HP specifications for the printer.
NOTE: Some heavy, thick, or coated paper can cause these errors.
4. Verify where the leading edge of the paper is when the jam occurs.
If the paper is stopped in the fuser, remove the fuser and inspect the fuser sleeve, pressure
roller, and delivery roller for damage or blockage. Replace the fuser if damaged.

NOTE: Check the event log for an active 10.23.70 message, “printing past very low”. If the
message is active, recommend the customer purchase a printer maintenance kit.
After an HP supply has reached the very low threshold, the HP Premium Protection Warranty
ends and the customer is responsible for replacing the supply.
If paper is past the fuser, test the duplex re-feed sensor (SR22) on the registration using
the manual sensor test. If the sensor does not function correctly, replace the registration
assembly.

If the sensor flag is damaged or broken, replace the right door assembly.

Use the component tests to run the duplex re-feed motor M11 drive test. If the motor is not
functioning correctly, replace the duplex drive assembly.
