3. Make sure that the paper meets the HP specifications for the printer.
NOTE: Some heavy, thick, or coated paper can cause these errors.
4. Ensure that the tray width guides are set to the correct paper size being installed into the tray. The
arrow on the guide should line up exactly with the line connected to paper size designation. Ensure
that the tray is not filled above the fill mark on the tray.
For instructions on loading the tray correctly, go to: HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M651, MFP M680 -
Load Tray 2 and the 500-sheet trays.
5. If the paper is stopped in the fuser, remove the fuser and inspect the fuser sleeve, pressure roller,
and delivery roller for damage or blockage. Replace the fuser if damaged.

NOTE: Check the event log for an active 10.23.70 message, “printing past very low”. If the message
is active, recommend the customer purchase a printer maintenance kit.
After an HP supply has reached the very low threshold, the HP Premium Protection Warranty ends
and the customer is responsible for replacing the supply.
6. Verify that there is no debris from a previous jam stuck in the fuser or rollers leading into or exiting
the fuser.
7. Verify that the fuser exit flag (SR5) moves freely and is not damaged.
8. Test the fuser delivery sensor (SR5) using the Tray/bin manual sensor test.

If the sensor fails the test, replace the fuser.
9. Confirm the output bin rollers are turning when printing a test page. If they are not turning, run the
fuser motor drive test under the Component Test menu to verify that the fuser drive and gears are
functioning properly.

10. If the rollers are not turning or the motor test fails, replace the fuser drive assembly.

11. Open the IPTU and inspect it for damage and debris.
12. Replace the fuser.
CAUTION: The fuser might be hot.
