3. Remove the cache module (see Figure 3). If two cache modules are present, and they do not have a capacity of 256 MB, remove

them both. The two cache modules must have identical capacities.

(a) Swivel the DIMM ejector levers outward .

(b) Loosen the old cache module by pushing one of the battery packs in the direction away from the DIMM connector socket.

4. If installing the cache upgrade module in the lower position:

(a) Remove the protective backing from the bumpers (see Figure 4).

(b) Attach the bumpers to the back of the 256-MB cache upgrade module at the locations shown .

5. Insert the 256-MB cache upgrade module into the DIMM connector socket.

6. Verify that the DIMM ejector levers are fully closed.

7. Close the unit cover.

8. Reinstall the unit into the storage enclosure.

Installation of the cache upgrade module is complete.
