6. Insert the 256-MB cache upgrade module into the DIMM connector

socket.

7. Verify that the DIMM ejector latches are fully closed.

8. Reinstall the plastic retainer.

9. Reinstall the heat sink.

Installation of the cache upgrade module is complete.

SA-5312

1. Remove the controller from the server, as described in the Compaq Smart Array 5312

Controller User Guide.

2. Release the old cache module (see Figure 1).

(a) Pull out the plastic retainer .

(b) Swivel the DIMM ejector latches outward .

3. Loosen the old cache module by pushing one of the battery packs in the direction away from

the DIMM connector socket.

4. Unplug the old cache module (see Figure 2).

5. Insert the 256-MB cache upgrade module into the DIMM connector socket.

6. Verify that the DIMM ejector latches are fully closed.

7. Reinstall the plastic retainer.

Installation of the cache upgrade module is complete.
