Introductory Screens

NS Conﬁguration

If you press the [NS] function key from the Main screen, the NS

Conﬁguration screen (#166) shown in Figure 2-4 appears. You have a

choice of selecting guided or unguided conﬁgurations.

Guided/Unguided Conﬁguration

Use the function keys on this screen to select the guided or the

unguided conﬁguration branch for NS conﬁguration. If you are using

domain names for network access, enter the domain name for the

system you are conﬁguring in the local domain name ﬁeld in place of

the local node name. (If you are not using domain names, leave the local

node name as is.)

If you are entering a domain name, press the

[Save Data] key to save the

domain name in the conﬁguration ﬁle before continuing.

Hewlett-Packard recommends that you press the [Guided Conﬁg] key to

select the guided conﬁguration branch whenever you need to initially

conﬁgure a network interface. Guided conﬁguration supplies many

default values for your conﬁguration and requires that you visit a

minimal number of screens. To use the guided conﬁguration screens,
