Assistant. Closing or canceling the Intelligent BBU dialog box does not
stop the reconditioning process.
Battery Status
Only one item (checked) can be active at a time.
Battery Type - This indicates the battery pack type. Currently only two
types are defined: Ni-Cad or Unknown. Unknown is reserved for future
use.
Version - This indicates the version number for the FCArray Controller
card’s BBU and the version selection numbers are from 0 to 255. The
version number used for the first release is 1 for the FCArray
Controller card’s BBU production release.
Low Power Alarm - This checkbox indicates a low power alarm
condition if a check mark appears in the box. The low power alarm is
only triggered when the Current Power value drops below the Low
Power Threshold setting.
Never Reconditioned - This checkbox indicates a new battery has
been installed, which automatically resets the BBU circuitry and is
reflected on the BBU dialog box. A new battery pack will have a check
mark in the box, until it has been fully discharged and then charged up
by the Recondition Battery selection under Actions.
Reconditioning Needed - This checkbox indicates that there have been
30 discharge-recharge cycles without an intervening recondition cycle.
The check mark will persist until a reconditioning action is performed.
See the Recondition Battery selection under Actions.
NOTE AC power to the FCArray Controller card must not be
interrupted during reconditioning process or the reconditioning
procedure will have to be repeated. A typical battery
reconditioning can take several hours (8 to 15 hours),
depending on the battery’s capacity and the existing charge on
the battery.
Reconditioning Active - This checkbox indicates the battery pack is
currently in some stage of being fully discharged and recharged to its
maximum power level. A check mark will only appear in this checkbox
if the Recondition Battery selection under Actions has been selected
and applied.
