Invoking dba/m Database Manager1-2
2. In the Password field, enter your password. Asterisks are displayed as
you type, instead of the actual password.
3. Choose a refresh mode by clicking on one of the following buttons:
Refresh: dba/m Database Manager retrieves SQL-object information
stored on the NonStop node. The refresh operation might take a
long time, based on the number of objects on the node.
NoRefresh: dba/m Database Manager retrieves SQL-object
information from files stored on the workstation.
When you log on for the first time, SQL-object information is
retrieved from the node regardless of which button you choose.
4. Click OK to establish a dba/m Database Manager session. If you typed
your user ID or password incorrectly, a message appears indicating that
you entered an invalid username or password. Click OK, then repeat
steps 1 through 3 to establish a dba/m Database Manager session.
After validating your name and password, dba/m Database Manager loads
all information about the SQL objects in your environment. The progress
of the loading is displayed, as shown in Figure 1-2. This window provides
an inventory of all SQL objects in your environment.
The time required to load the object information depends on the number of
objects stored on the node. When the loading is complete, you can use
dba/m’s database-management tools.
