PART II: MANAGING DATABASE
OPERATIONS
The chapters in Part II explain how to use dba/m Database Manager to
perform higher-level management tasks, such as monitoring disk-space
usage, analyzing and tuning query performance, and creating and
scheduling batches.
Part II is organized as follows:
Chapter 6, Monitoring Space Usage. Describes how to display
disk space used by volume. Includes procedures for monitoring
objects, setting alarm thresholds, and displaying alarms.
Chapter 7, Analyzing and Tuning Query Performance.
Provides procedures for analyzing ad hoc queries or queries in
programs, and tuning queries using table, column, and index
statistics.
Chapter 8, Managing Data. Explains how to query, copy, and
move data stored in tables.
Chapter 9, Auditing dba/m Database Manager Activities.
Provides instructions on displaying a history of commands executed
by users of dba/m Database Manager.
Chapter 10, Managing Jobs and Batches. Defines jobs and
batches. Describes how to create and schedule batch jobs, and how
to monitor the execution of batch jobs.
