To install the video drivers (ATI Radeon Series)
While the video will function with the default XP video drivers you will lack the ability
to use special features and advanced configuration settings. Hewlett-Packard suggests
that you install these drivers in order to take advantage of these features.
1. Insert the bootable Recovery CD into the CD-ROM/DVD drive.
2. Run SETUP.EXE from the video driver directory.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Upon successful installation of the drivers, you will be asked to reboot your notebook.
Choose YES, I WANT TO RESTART MY COMPUTER NOW if you have no other
drivers to install. Otherwise, choose NO, I WILL RESTART MY COMPUTER LATER
and continue to the next step.
To install the AGP video driver (ALi 1535)
If you have installed retail Windows, you need to install the AGP video driver. To install
or upgrade the AGP video driver:
1. Run SETUP.EXE from the AGP driver directory on the Recovery CD.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Upon successful installation of the drivers, you will be asked to reboot your notebook.
Choose YES, I WANT TO RESTART MY COMPUTER NOW if you have no other
drivers to install. Otherwise, choose NO, I WILL RESTART MY COMPUTER LATER
and continue to the next step.
You can reboot at this point to have full screen video for the remainder of the
configuration process.
To install the audio drivers (ALi M5451)
While the audio will function with the default XP audio drivers, Hewlett-Packard has not
fully tested the XP drivers. For this reason, Hewlett-Packard suggests that you install the
drivers provided on the Recovery CD.
1. Run SETUP.EXE from the audio driver directory on the Recovery CD.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
