Before removing the card reader board, follow these steps:
1. Turn o the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the following components:
a. Service door (see Service door on page 45)
b. Battery (see Battery on page 47)
c. Fan (see Fan on page 71)
d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 56)
e. Base enclosure (see Internal base enclosure on page 65)
Remove the card reader board:
1. Disconnect the larger card reader cable (1) and the smaller touchpad cable (2) from the card reader
board.
2. Using a thin tool, pry up the left side of the board to disengage it from the top cover (3).
