Embedded Web server This product is equipped with an embedded Web server (EWS), which provides access to information about product and network activities. A Web server provides an environment in which web programs may run, much in the same way that an operating system, such as Windows, provides an environment for programs to run on a computer. The output from these programs can then be displayed by a Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, or Netscape Navigator.
Use HP Web Jetadmin software HP Web Jetadmin is a Web-based software solution for remotely installing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network-connected peripherals. Management is proactive, allowing network administrators the ability to resolve issues before users are affected. Download this free, enhancedmanagement software at www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin. Device plug-ins can be installed into HP Web Jetadmin to provide support for specific product features.
Lock the product The product has a slot that you can use to attach a cable-type security lock.
Economy settings Print with EconoMode This product has an EconoMode option for printing drafts of documents. Using EconoMode can use less toner and decrease the cost per page. However, using EconoMode can also reduce print quality. HP does not recommend the full-time use of EconoMode. If EconoMode is used full-time, the toner supply might outlast the mechanical parts in the print cartridge.
Quiet mode settings This product has a quiet mode that reduces noise during printing. When quiet mode is turned on, the product prints at a slower speed. NOTE: Quiet mode reduces the product print speed, which might improve print quality. Follow these steps to enable quiet mode. Activate the quiet mode from the printer driver 1. Open the printer properties, and then click the Device Settings tab. 2. Click the Enable option to turn on the Quiet Mode feature.
Manage supplies and accessories Print when a cartridge is at estimated end of life Supplies messages Supply-related notifications are communicated on the product control panel and on computers that have the full product software installed. If the full product software is not installed, you might not receive all supply-related notifications in a prominent manner. To install the full product software, insert the CD that came with the product and follow the steps for the full install.
Manage print cartridges Print-cartridge storage Do not remove the print cartridge from its package until you are ready to use it. CAUTION: To prevent damage to the print cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than a few minutes. HP policy on non-HP print cartridges Hewlett-Packard Company cannot recommend the use of non-HP print cartridges, either new or remanufactured. NOTE: Any damage caused by a non-HP print cartridge is not covered under the HP warranty and service agreements.
