white paper covers the new HP Compaq Business Notebook nc6400 models, along with a software
comparison to HP Compaq Business Notebook nc2400, nc4400, nc6300 and nc8400 models.
This document is intended for HP personnel and customers who need information about the software
provided on the HP Compaq business notebook preinstall images.

Operating systems
Operating systems available for the nc6400 series include:
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
• Microsoft Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 is supported on HP Compaq nc2400,
nc4400, nc6300, nc6400 and nc8400 models.
