Homogeneous and Heterogeneous
Server Environments
In homogeneous server environments, Siebel Gateway Server, Siebel Servers, and Web servers are
all deployed on the same platform. In heterogeneous server environments, Siebel Gateway Server,
Siebel Servers, and Web servers can be deployed on different supported platforms. Table 2 defines
supported homogeneous and heterogeneous server environments.
NOTE: Table 2 includes combinations that may not be supported in the base release. In some
instances, a newer platform may be supported in a maintenance release. Therefore, see the
“Applicable Release” column to see if a particular environment is supported in your release.
Application Operating Modes
Siebel applications can be run in different operating modes in order to best suit the capabilities of a
given browser and other elements of the client environment.
