4. Use the controls to complete the configuration, as described in the following table.
5. Click Apply to apply your settings to the running configuration. (Apply your
settings to test a new configuration before committing it to memory.)
6. Click Save to write your settings to memory or click Reset to return the settings to
their previous values.
Setting SNMP
Parameters
You set SNMP parameters in the Reports - SNMP Settings page.
By default SNMP parameters are not configured.
Control Description
Events Report Events to SNMP Agent. Check this box to report activity to an SNMP agent. To
complete SNMP settings, see “Setting SNMP Parameters” on page 93.
Report Events via Email. Check this box to report events via email. Use the
Notification Recipients controls to specify email addresses.
Email Addresses. Type a space-separated list of email address to which to send
notification messages.
Failures Report Failures via Email. Check this box to report failures via email. Use the
Notification Recipients controls to specify email addresses.
Email Addresses. Type a space-separated list of email address to which to send
notification messages.
SMTP Server SMTP Server. Type a valid Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server. External
DNS and external access for SMTP traffic is required for this feature to function.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you provide a valid SMTP server to ensure that the users you
specify receive email notifications for events and failures.
SMTP Port. Type a port number for the SMTP server.
