Enterprise Volume Manager (Multi-OS) Host Agent Version 2.0D for HP Tru64 UNIX Installation Guide

Installing the EVM Host Agent
2–2 Enterprise Volume Manager (Multi-OS) Host Agent Version 2.0D for HP Tru64 UNIX
Installation Guide
Starting the Installation
Complete the following procedure to install an EVM host agent on a host.
CAUTION: EVM Host Agent V2.0D for HP Tru64 UNIX is cluster-aware; however,
Tru64 UNIX 5.1A patch BL3 does not support the EVM host cluster feature. If cluster
operations are critical to system operations, HP does not recommend installing
EVM V2.0D.
Running an EVM V2.0D job that involves a host cluster (with Tru64 UNIX 5.1A patch
BL3) can lead to job failure and cluster server panic (kernel memory fault).
NOTE: During the installation procedure, press Enter to choose the default response. To view
more information, enter a question mark (?).
This procedure illustrates an installation on a host that is part of an HP TruCluster cluster. A
standalone host installation omits all references to clusters.
1. Enter ./install.sh to start the installation script.
The script starts the EVM host agent installation and the data in Figure 2–1
displays.
