Installing and Configuring HSG Agent
4–6 HSG80 ACS Solution Software Version 8.7 for Compaq Tru64 UNIX Installation and
Configuration Guide
(Substituting cdrom0c if necessary for your CD-ROM)
4. Change directories on the CD-ROM by entering:
# cd /mnt/agent
CAUTION: The version of Compaq Tru64 UNIX that you are using, either V4.0x or
V5.1x will determine which Device Special File Name format you will need to enter.
5. To run the installation program, enter the following at the command prompt:
# setld -l
NOTE: The -l is a lowercase L.
You are asked if you want to install the listed subsets.
6. Enter the corresponding number of the software and then press the Enter key.
Configure Client System Options
7. Select option y and then press the Enter key.
As the installation continues, you see several system messages, telling you that the
subset has been installed and is being loaded. The computer asks you to add a
client system entry.
8. Enter the name of the client system that you want to receive updates from this
Agent. Press the Enter key.
NOTE: Enter your most important client system first. Enter client systems that are connected
infrequently last. The Agent puts the client systems entered first at the top of its list. It first
contacts the client system located at the top of the list.
9. From the access options menu, enter an access level for the client system.
The access privilege level controls the client system’s level of access to the
subsystems. The following explains each access option:
Table 4–3: Client System Access Options
Options SWCC Function
0 = Overall Status
■ Can use the Client to add a system to a Navigation Tree, set up a
pager, and view properties of the controller and the system
■ Cannot use Client to open a Storage Window
