FRU
Field replaceable unit. A hardware component that can be replaced at
the customer location by service personnel or qualified customer
service personnel.
FRUTIL
Field Replacement utility.
full duplex (n)
A communications system in which there is a capability for 2-way
transmission and acceptance between two sites at the same time.
full duplex (adj)
Pertaining to a communications method in which data can be
transmitted and received at the same time.
FWD SCSI
A fast, wide, differential SCSI bus with a maximum 16-bit data transfer
rate of 20 MB/s. See also SCSI and FD SCSI.
GBIC
Gigabit Interface Converter. GBICs convert electrical signals to optical
signals (and vice-versa.) They are inserted into the ports of the Fibre
Channel switch and hold the Fibre Channel cables.

Pertaining to a communications system in which data can be either
transmitted or received but only in one direction at one time.
