Before removing the speaker assembly, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 33).
5. Remove the following components:
a. Service doors (see Service door on page 34).
b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 42)
c. Hard drive (Hard drive on page 35)
d. Top cover (see Top cover on page 47)
e. System board (see System board on page 60)
Remove the speaker assembly:
1. Position the computer upright.
2. Remove the 2 Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screws (1) that secure the speakers to the computer.
3. Remove the speaker wire from the routing clips in the chassis (2).
