13-4 Operating modes
553-4001-111 Standard 1.0 March 1997
A menu is provided by the system. Detailed information on the menu items,
as well as information regarding the default supervisors ID in training
mode, is available from the help facility. To view the help text, press {h},
followed by {RETURN}.
The supervisor workstations can be used in the training mode as soon as
Meridian MAX starts up. You must select or define the workstation type, or
both, before using the workstation for the first time after a system restart.
Workstations remain active until either the system is shut down or
precutover mode is selected from the system console.
Precutover mode
Before switching to precutover mode, ensure the following are ready:
1 The High-Speed Link is connected between the Meridian MAX and
the Meridian 1.
2 The Meridian 1 is configured for the High-Speed Link (Procedure 12-3
for Option 21–81 or Procedure 12-5 for Option 11) and Load
Management Link (Procedure 12-4 for Option 21–81 or Procedure
12-6 for Option 11).
3 Supervisors and agents are trained and ready to use the Meridian
MAX.
4 All workstations are logged out.
Switching to precutover mode is an irreversible change (unless a new
installation is performed again).
To switch from training to precutover mode, follow Procedure 13-2.
In the precutover mode, the Meridian MAX database can be built in
preparation for actual Meridian MAX operations. Once the Meridian MAX
database is set up, you can convert to the product mode. This is the
operational mode where typical Meridian MAX operations occur.
