HP FlexFabric Virtual Switch 5900v Configuration Examples

Example: Using the HP 5900v to implement an
EVB solution
Network requirements
As shown in Figure 1, VMware, HP IMC, and HP 5900v virtual switch have been deployed. The HP 5900
switch provides network access for ESXi host 1 and ESXi host 2, and it is uplinked to an HP 10500 switch.
Each host has four NICs. One NIC connects to the management network, one NIC connects to the iSCSI
storage, and the other two connect to the service network.
Create two VMs on host 1 and three VMs on host 2 to provide mail, file, and other services.
Use HP IMC to configure the following policies for mail, file, and other services:

Configure the HP 5900v virtual switch to meet the following requirements:
VMs on ESXi host 1 and host 2 can access the network. The ESXi hosts connect to the HP 5900
switch through an aggregate link.
Notifies IMC to issue the network policies for VMs to VSIs on the HP 5900 switch.
When the VMs migrate between the ESXi hosts, the network policies are moved along with the VMs
automatically.
