Preparing information for VCE installation

Before you install the virtual switch, collect information required for VCE installation, as shown in Table

VCE

• Name.

• IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address.

• DNS name.

ESXi host

IP address.

IMC

• IP address.

• Subnet mask.

• Username.

• Password.

• Port number for remote login.

VMware vCenter Server

• IP address.

• HTTP and HTTPS port numbers for remote access.

• Username and password of an admin-level user account.

• VMware plug-in name (displayed in the VMware vCenter Server

management tab).

License

Number of physical CPUs on the ESXi hosts that run VFEs.

NOTE:

VFE licenses are granted on a per-CPU basis. You must obtain one VFE license

for each physical CPU.
