Problems with VMware plug-in

Failure to display the configuration tabs on the

vSphere client

Symptom

The configuration tabs for the HP 5900v cannot be displayed on the vSphere client.

Solution

To resolve the problem:

1. See "Verifying VMware plug-in " to verify that

the VMware plug-in has been successfully installed.

2. Restart the vSphere client.

3. Select Plug-in > Plug-in Management from the navigation tree to verify that the plug-in is enabled.

If it is not enabled, right-click the plug-in, and select Enable from the short-cut menu.

4. If the problem persists, contact HP Support.

Failure to correctly display the 5900v configuration

tabs on the vSphere client

Symptom

Configure VDS or port group. The system displays an error message: "This program cannot display the

webpage.".

Solution

To resolve the problem:

1. Log in to the VCE global configuration page to verify that the virtual switch where the VCE resides

is operating correctly.

2. On the vSphere client, select Plug-in > Plug-in Management from the navigation tree to verify that

the plug-in is enabled. If it is not enabled, right-click the plug-in, and select Enable from the short-cut

menu.

3. Identify whether a proxy server is set in the Internet Options menu. If it is, clear Use a proxy server

for your LAN, and try again.

4. If the problem persists, contact HP Support.
