Before removing the 15.6-in display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 48).
5. Remove the switch cover and keyboard (see
Switch cover and keyboard on page 49).
6. Disconnect the power button cable from the system board (see
Power button board on page 56).
7. Remove the speakers (see
Speakers on page 58)
8. Remove the thermal shield (see
Thermal shield on page 59).
Remove the display cables:
1. Remove the tape that holds the cables in place (1). Disconnect the display and webcam cables
from the system board and from the routing channels.
2. Disconnect the cable connectors for the display (2) and microphone (3) from the system board.
3. Disconnect the WLAN and WWAN cables (4) from the tape and from the routing channels built
into the top cover.
