Method two: Enable the USB port from the HP Embedded Web server (network-connected printers
only)
Learn how to enable the USB port from the EWS for either FutureSmart 3 or 4.

Use the following procedure to enable the USB port from the EWS for FutureSmart 3.
1. In the address line of your web browser, type the IP address or host name of the printer to open the EWS.
For more information, see Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) on page 13.
2. On the EWS Home page, open the Print tab.
3. On the left side of the screen, click Retrieve from USB Setup.
4. Select the Enable Retrieve from USB check box.
5. Click Apply.
FutureSmart 4
Use the following procedure to enable the USB port from the EWS for FutureSmart 4.
1. In the address line of your web browser, type the IP address or host name of the printer to open the EWS.
For more information, see Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) on page 13.
2. On the navigation bar at the top of the EWS home page, click the Copy/Print tab (for MFP models), or the
Print tab (for SFP models).
3. In the left navigation pane, select Print from USB Drive Settings.
4. Select Enable Print from USB Drive, and then click Apply.
