Follow the in-box directions to unpack the DCF, HCI,
or stand.
If the Stapler-Stacker (Y1G18A) or Booklet Finisher
(Y1G07A) will be installed, the HP LaserJet Spacer
(Y1G24A) must be installed on the bottom of the
DCF, HCI, or stand. If the spacer is not required, go
to step 2.7.
Position the DCF, HCI, or stand near
the printer.
WARNING: Make sure the work area
is free of debris and the oor is not
slippery or wet.
NOTE: If desired, lower the stabilizers
to prevent the printer from moving.
Install the printer on the DCF, 2000-sheet HCI, or stand.
Install the two black reusable lifting handles in the hand holds on the left
side of the printer (callout 1). Open two lift bars on the right side of the
printer (callout 2).
NOTE: Lifting handles are recommended, but are not shipped with the
printer (handle set: JC82-00538A).
Prepare the DCF, 2000-sheet HCI, or stand for installation.
CAUTION: Use care when lifting. Use proper safe lifting practices.
IMPORTANT: Retain two thumbscrews for securing the HCI or stand.
Remove the casters, stabilizer feet, and stabilizer
brackets from the bottom of the DCF, HCI, or stand.
Unpackage the HP LaserJet Spacer (Y1G24A) and
retain the two “L” shaped brackets to for securing the
HP LaserJet Spacer to the DCF, HCI, or stand.
Install the casters to the bottom of the HP LaserJet
Spacer. The screw holes for the casters are pre-threaded.
Using a manual screwdriver, install the Stabilizer
brackets to the bottom of the HP LaserJet Spacer.
Install stabilizer feet into each bracket.
NOTE: The four screw holes for each stabilizer
bracket are not pre-threaded. You will need to apply
downward force as you install each screw.
Align and lift the DCF, HCI, or stand on top of the
HP LaserJet Spacer. Install two “L” shaped brackets
and screws.
