The following table shows the supported BC Z operations when the P-VOL is shared with Cnt Ac-J
Z S-VOL (intermediate or remote site).

• If the BC Z P-VOL is shared with the intermediate site’s Cnt Ac-J Z S-VOL, then check Cnt Ac-J Z status for the local-intermediate
pair.
• If the BC Z P-VOL is shared with the remote site’s Cnt Ac-J Z S-VOL, then check Cnt Ac-J Z status for the local-remote pair.
Sharing volumes in a 3-Cnt Ac-J Z DC cascade configuration
You can share BC Z volumes with Cnt Ac-J Z volumes in 3 DC cascade configurations. You can
share BC Z P-VOL and S-VOLs with Cnt Ac-J Z volumes, as shown in the following figure.

When associated with these configurations, BC Z pair operations are dependent on the pair status
of the Cnt Ac-J Z local-intermediate pair and the local-remote pair.
The following table shows the BC Z operations that you can perform when the P-VOL is shared
